Yolo County Supervisor Campaign

2023-2024

NJ Mvondo is an advocate for all in Davis and in Yolo County, and was running for District 4 Supervisor to instigate community-driven reforms and economic revitalization. The task was to develop a cohesive branding identity for a political campaign in Yolo County. This included designing a professional and modern logo that reflects the candidate’s values and personality while appealing to her target audience.

Assignment

In 2023, a previous client, NJ Mvondo, approached me to assist with branding for her first political campaign. To kick off the project, I conducted a discovery session with her to learn about her background, goals, and vision for the campaign. We discussed her expectations for the logo, focusing on how it could best represent her values and aspirations.

I began by researching political campaign branding trends, drawing inspiration from social media and online resources. Using the insights gathered from my research and our conversations, I designed a logo that embodied sophistication and professionalism, aligning with her campaign’s message.

Once the logo was finalized, I developed a comprehensive branding kit to ensure consistency in the use of the logo, icons, and color palette across all materials. From there, I collaborated with her team to create yard signs for campaign marketing, designed social media posts to engage audiences and share updates, and crafted invitations for campaign fundraisers. Each element of the project was tailored to enhance her campaign's visual identity and connect with her target audience effectively.
